Still more clouds

That evening as I continued to hike, the mood of the sky continually changed.

  1. Lovely scenery… thanks for sharing!

  2. You’ve sure had some pretty amazing skies…the clouds are as impressive as the landscapes!

    • Yes, the skies have been beautiful. I was lucky to have a chance to capture some of them.

  3. Beautiful captures, Terry

They look like snow clouds to me. Might be a little too late but the more water the better.

    • Thanks Scott. Just traces of snow came from them in this area, but there was some meaningful snow in other areas of the mountains.

  4. Oh, I love the first one! So billowy and fluffy!

  5. I never tire of clouds! Clouds are a ‘landscape’ of their own; however, always changing. Fascinating to watch and photograph. These are beautiful captures as the clouds are broody.

    • I never tire of them either, Anna. The winter sky is not as exciting as the sky will be from now through about September.

  6. I liked the perspective from the second. Nice series.

    • Thanks Dave. There are several more I will post from that evening. The clouds were great and I happened to be in a good area to see them in several directions.

  7. Each more pretty than the last.

  8. Beautiful cloud shots! I can’t imagine how big they must have been as they dwarf the mountain in the background. Well done.

    • They were pretty tall. The top of the mountain is 7,400 feet and the top 3 to 4 thousand is in the photos.

  9. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL shots! I sooo wish I could see Montana again!!!

    • How well I know that feeling. I had to live away from here for nearly 30 years and all the time wished I were back!

  10. My mood changed just looking at your photos!

    Comment by Pinhole — April 6, 2010 @ 9:13 pm

    • Clouds do that to me a lot of the time, Pinhole. When they are like these were, they will set a mood no matter what.

  11. You love those clouds, don’t you? They are quite striking against the mountain backdrop.

  12. Awesome!!
