Montana Outdoors
Love the “snow” falling in the photo. 🙂 It does look cold! Wish I was on that pond with my ice skates! Love you!

I was just thinking about when we used to skate on the ponds. The one at Weeksville has ice again this year and the one on River Road looked inviting the other day. It would be fun to do that again! Love you too, Hon!

The teens is pretty cold for you though, isn’t it Chad? I’ll be happy when the night temps again are in the teens. I’m really not so fond of the sub-zero stuff. The roads are still clear in this immediate area though, so that’s good.

So pretty… The temps here are in the teens with wind chill. Tonights temps won’t need the wind chill’s help to get that low. I can smell the coolness in the air outside. I love it!

We were supposed to have some wind tonight, but it’s calm now. We’re now at -2° so we don’t really need wind chill! I do like the clear sky and all the stars though when it’s this cold.

Down to -17 tonight! Talk about a drastic change. Only a few days ago it was in the mid 40’s!

Put another log on the fire and get those extra conforters down out of the attic.
It’s currently 44 degrees and raining in north Georgia. Temps have been down into the low 30s several times, but that’s it so far.

Yes, I’ve been putting plenty of wood on the fire! I watched a little of the national weather this morning. I think your weather has come from a storm that originated in California. If that one had come this way we’d be in snow up to our chins! 44 degrees sounds pretty good to us at the moment!

Is it any warmer in North Dakota say in early January? Heading out that way. 🙂

North Dakota is probably colder than we are here in January! Be prepared! In this whole area (Idaho, Montana North Dakota) we have fairly cold winters but it gets really cold when the Arctic air mass dips south and visits, which is usually no more than a week or so each winter.
The light blue to the sky is a sign of Arctic air, and it is cold! When I hike around in the very cold weather I take a smaller camera, one that I can keep inside my coat. You’re right, a battery charge doesn’t last too long in those temps. Several years ago I had regular batteries in a little digital that I had and they quit entirely. Luckily I had some lithiums with me and they revived it so I could get some hunting pictures.

Clear blue winter skies tell me the thermometer is probably registering below zero. Looks so pretty, but sure doesn;t keep the earth warm like a thick cloud cover! 🙂
