Mule deer heaven

Mule deer heaven

A blue-sky day in winter should never be wasted and this afternoon was perfect for a visit to a place I think of as “Mule Deer Heaven”. It’s a great place for sheep, too (I encountered 5 Bighorns, the same number of mulies and a couple of white-tails). That’s a sheep trail in the foreground and the Coeur d’Alene Mountains in the background: what can be better than that?

  1. Oh – yes – so true…a blue sky day should never be wasted. We’ve got one today and I’ll be out very soon!!! Love the snowflakes on your page!

    • I remember how I loved blue-sky days in Seattle too. Take good advantage of it! The snowflakes are added by WordPress this time of year and I rather like them, especially since we don’t have real ones yet.

  2. Look, it’s a flurry!

    • Perhaps a little incongruous in this photo, but pleasant anyway.

  3. Really like the darkness building in the afternoon sky – a reminder of how short the daylight hours can be this time of year. You can have some of the Colorado snow if you take our cold Arctic air mass as well!

    • We could use the snow, but we’re forecast to get only a little: lots of the Arctic air though.

  4. Perfect photo for the flurries. I didn’t know WordPress did that, how cool. I’ll have to turn it on as soon as I post some appropriate photos. Well, I guess that won’t be too easy. It’s very festive!

    • For your area, WordPress should perhaps have some sun rays! I do like the snow flurries though. I wouldn’t mind some of your weather right now: it’s 10° at the moment.
