My first reaction upon seeing this was: WOW! That blue is incredible. So intense. And, I love that little, tiny wisp of a cloud in the back there. Gorgeous!
This shot is from the other direction: those are the Coeur d’Alenes. The Missions are white now too.
I always think of it as Dog Lake because of memories I have of the place from back in the 40’s and 50’s. The name change never quite registered with me.
I do love it. We haven’t had much this fall though. The bluest is when the arctic air comes in during the winter, but I don’t even want to think about that!
This is in kind of day when I want to have either an inner tube or a row boat so I can go out in the center of the lake and do absolutely nothing.

That would be good! I’d opt for the boat though: there’s ice on the shoreline of this lake now.

I have plenty of photos of the lake already, but with the sky that blue today I couldn’t resist one more.

Is that snow in the Missions? What a peaceful place! (I prefer the name Rainbow Lake:)

Oh my, it looks so inviting! As warm as it is here, in West Texas, I’d love to take a swim in it!

It does look inviting, but it’s past the time of year when it would be comfortable. We are getting into the 20′ at night here now.

Not a cloud in the sky! The blue lake reflecting the blue sky is brilliant.

A clear sky and just the right light angle. Nature can put on a show, can’t she!

It has many different looks depending on the weather. You just have to be there at the right time.

I love it when it looks like that. It will soon start showing ice at the edges, then freeze over completely in mid-winter. Still pretty though.
