    • I haven’t hunted up there lately, but hike it several times a year. It’s a pretty canyon any time of year.

  2. I’ve just gone through your recent photos. They are astonishing. You live in one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the posts.

    • Thanks Burstmode! This is a beautiful area and I’m blessed with enough time to get out often and good health so I can hike up into areas that are not accessible by motor vehicles. I’m always pleasantly surprised by what I find out there.

  4. Such beautiful color..the gold rivals our hickorys, which are getting full color now. Wish I had a larch or two or three in my woods.

    • I’ve always wanted to see your part of the country in the fall. I remember how beautiful it was in summer. I wonder if there have been any larch planted there. I would think they would do well.

    • I love the larch, and the colors just make one want to be in the woods now. When the needles fall, they also color the ground and the trails are very pretty.

    • As I hiked up this canyon, I tried shooting from below and couldn’t get anything that worked. By climbing the other side of the canyon and shooting down at them it was possible to get the colors right. I love looking at them that way anyway!

  8. Nice work getting that entire tree into the frame. The colors are excellent with the yellows, rusts and greens. Background also works well here.

    • It was good luck, finding a window in the forest large enough to see the whole tree. A rare opportunity.
