In the spotlight

Western Larch are magnificent trees and even the small, young ones have the ability to dominate a scene.

    • That’s what the Larch does, Scott. Makes this a favorite time of year for me and a lot of photo fun!

  5. Had to do some research on this tree. The coloring is just beautiful. Wish I had some in my area.

    • It’s a close relative of the Tamarack, which grows in the Northeast of the US and Canada, but not in the south.

    • On that day the sun came out from behind the clouds only minutes at a time, and one of those times it seemed to spotlight the little larch.
