Sounds like your summer left before ours did this year. We’ve had a few nights in the 30’s, but today was 89. This might be one of those years when we have a long Indian summer then drop right below freezing all at once.

That last photo is so pretty. It looks like one of those fiber optic (is that what they are called?), Christmas trees, but just about ten thousand times prettier!

My wife also said they reminded her of the fiber optic Christmas lights. I know they have a very utilitarian purpose, but besides that they sure are pretty! When I saw them this morning I was happy that I made the hike down to the river (they are right on the bank).

You might make it ’till November. This is supposed to be a dry warm winter around here. We haven’t needed a fire yet, though a few nights have been a little cool.

Because I don’t generally read the comments of others before I comment, I completely missed out on the award for which you have been selected. What do they do, give you an “award badge” to place on your blog? It is fantastic that they have chosen your work to honor. Way to go, Terry! Congratulations.
Incidentally, there is a place any of you may like to visit. The Writer’s Digest is the “bible for writers” or wannabe writers. I purchase it and receive a newsletter online.
