I like its velvety blue wings. And notice besides a design on his wings, there is also a design on his thorax(?). I also notice the fringes on the wings. How neat! Beautiful moth. So what is it? Regardless, it is a great shot.
I haven’t a clue as to what kind of moth it is, but it’s quite small, perhaps a little more than a half inch from wing tip to wing tip. I was captivated by those big eyes looking in through the glass on our door.
I’ve seen a similar fringes on the edges of butterflies wings too. That must be a successful structure for some reason.
good shot,… looks like a wing has a tear in it. it’s always interesting to make eye contact with nature. makes me realize we’re all in this world together.

I mean, “half an inch.” It looks as though he would be much larger.

Yes, he’s just a little guy. I wondered why he chose that particular spot to stay and how he was able to stick there.

They are, Anna, sort of a soft tapestry. I wish I could have seen the pattern better though.

I like it that way, Bernie, but sometimes my home is just a touch too comfortable; a hazard of getting old.
