These are just beginning to bloom now in the high country. They are tiny and usually ignored, but when you look closely, they seem to have their own little celebration going on. I think this group was celebrating the rain.

I always love the forest and plants during or after a rain. It emphasizes how vital the rain is to the whole ecology.

These little ones, especially. They are just beginning their season this late when the forest is quite dry. I would think that rain this time of year is vital to their cycle.

Yes, I think whoever named many of the wildflowers could have done much better. These are much prettier than their name!

I don’t remember ever seeing any of these wild-looking wildflowers. I’m guessing dogs really don’t like them.

They aren’t especially noticeable if you don’t look really close. It is toxic for livestock, but I haven’t a clue what a dog might have to do with it.
