(I felt compelled to post this after I looked out the window this morning to see new snow on the ground and more coming down.)

I hope this one isn’t coming your way, Cedar. It has some cold air from Canada with it and enough moisture from the Pacific to make it quite an event here.

Ah, poor little ducky. March is such a transition month.
So far, upstate NY has been blessed with little to no snow. We might break a record of the least amount of snow ever in March. Of course, there’s still a few days to go yet. 🙂

Snow off and on through April and into May isn’t rare here. It usually melts quickly, but night temps are bothersome for those planting gardens. We don’t plant anything that’s frost tender until late in April.

I just love seeing that little guy sitting there in the ice all winter, usually covered with snow. Makes me glad I have a wood stove!

That made me laugh! Decoy to nowhere indeed! Looks like punxsutawney phil was correct this year…. The low temps for N AZ tomorrow are in the mid-20’s. What a winter!

It can be cold this time of year in Northern Arizona! I remember one March while I was skiing at the Snow Bowl out of Flagstaff I got on the lift and the attendant told us (there were only 2 of us) that it would be the last run because there was a big storm at the top and the wind chill up there was -100°. The day before, I was driving around Phoenix with my AC on.

I’ve noticed that you have had some cold down there. this isn’t all that unusual for our March, but right now the temps are below average.

There was snow on the ground here this morning although it was above freezing. It covered the Buttercups, but melted a little later and they were as bright as ever! It’s snowing again now, big, floating flakes. I have to say it’s pretty, and at the same time hope the pager doesn’t go off tonight due to slippery roads.

Perhaps the decoy needs a friend now after a long, hard winter. 🙂 Snow is in the forecast here in Kansas late Friday and Saturday. Finally, some snow… and in the spring. LOL I’d love to see some big, floating flakes.

He sits on a pond a ways off the road, and just driving by sometimes he will fool you. There are lots of Mallards around anyway.
