  1. Those are the kind of mornings that i like to slip the canoe into the water and go for a quiet paddle around the shoreline. Nice shot!

    • That would be really pleasant! I don’t have boat access to the river here or I’d do more of that.

    • those are Mallards. We usually have a few around, but this year, in that particular location, several hundred spent the winter. They had a hundred or so geese for company too, many more than usual. I have no idea why.

    • On a short walk early this morning, the fog was still hanging over the river and the trees on a point on the other side just grabbed my attention.

(I missed the shot I really wanted of Robins in a bush silhouetted over the river because I couldn’t get the camera into action quickly enough.)

  6. Now this is truly beautiful in the tones of black and white. I really like the clearness of detail with the fog as well as the composition. Yes, it is tranquil. Lovely, lovely, montucky. 🙂

    • Thanks, Anna! I love it when Nature creates scenes like that and feel privileged to be there for the few fleeting seconds they exist.

  7. I really like this photo. Easy for me to imagine how it would feel to be sitting there on the banks of the river with arms around my knees in soliloquy!

    • I think the river and the pines are really pretty in the morning fog. It lasts only an hour, but stays in my memory.
