Spring hasn’t been canceled, just delayed a few days. This is today’s look at the trail that leads to the buttercups. (They were in hiding.)

  2. Oh no! Those poor buttercups! How’s the snowpack there? Hopefully staying above avg? Also, have you seen any robins yet? Stay warm.

    • The snowpack in this area has been at about 90% of average, but this snow really helped. Lookout Pass area (about 50 miles west) got 27″ last night and the high country right here looks like it may have gotten over a foot at least.

Yes, we’ve had robins for the last month and there were even a few who stayed for the whole winter, for the first time that I can ever remember!

    • Oh – forgot… I’m headed to the Zoo on the weekend to pick up the motorhome I dropped off last time I was there. Supposed to be sunny and 40 – hoping that is right!

      • Yep, should be warm again by the weekend I think. With those drivers, I wouldn’t have wanted to be there today!

    • They’re under about 4 inches of white at the moment, Ed. It’s forecast to be in the 40’s this weekend, so they’ll be back out again by Monday.

  6. What a difference a bit of snow makes! That’s so pretty, and *so* different. It’s like a whole different world over there now.

    • It was an entirely different world! By tomorrow night the snow will all be gone. Yesterday when we returned from looking for the trail, as we passed the area where we saw the buttercups there was a small band of sheep on the hill right above where we parked the Jeep.
