…And it looks pretty frigid.

Oh that little house on the other side of the river is so cute looking in those pictures! It’s like a Christmas card!

Sara,
I’ve always loved that old ranch. It would have been a wonderful place to raise a family fifty years ago. Now it’s owned by a large corporation that will undoubtedly develop it into huge homes.

Those pictures are so beautiful. I wonder why a large corporation needs to own a ranch, what a shame.

It’s all about money, Ellen. I think they have plans to subdivide and develop the whole thing. I heard that the Montana FWP was going to buy the ranch, but it was sold out from under them.
Thanks for the visit!

It’s been quite cold here too, but with more snow. You are truly privileged to be surrounded by such beauty.

Oh what a shame that wonderful place will be desecrated by a developer’s greed. Thank you for that photo, at least in the photo it will survive at its best!

Gorgeous! I love the first photograph, and it would be one I’d frame and hang. Cold but beautiful! 🙂

Tabbie,
Yes, we’re short on snow this year so far. There’s now over a foot on the ground but it is cold, very fluffy snow and has a low water content. I like that because it makes a great insulation on the roof without being too heavy, but it doesn’t do much for the snowpack in the mountains.

Cedar,
I don’t know how long before that area will be developed. Of course now the bad real estate market will hold it back. The area downstream from the old ranch buildings for about a mile is the home of a half dozen Bald Eagles and several Osprey fish that stretch of river every day. I suppose they will have to go too.

Thanks, Anna!
It seems that when Mother Nature hits us with the very cold weather, she also blesses us with the beauty of winter.

Maureen,
The winter here has some beautiful times to be sure, but I also have some very fond memories of winter in the Arizona desert.
