June reflections

Filed under: Montana, Nature, Outdoors, Photography, Photos, Pictures — montucky @ 12:21 am

Last evening after a full day of wood cutting, my son wanted to go fishing for Pike and I accompanied him just as an observer. Fishing, you know, isn’t only about catching fish!

While he was fishing (and he did catch a nice four-pound Pike) I enjoyed a few reflections (scenic and otherwise).

  1. Sounds like a wonderful Father’s Day – beautiful spot to finish!

  2. Yes it was a really good day! The Pike seemed like a reward for all the hard work.

  3. What a great fathers day Terry, me and my son cut grass, but then again we are leaving this week for a camping trip to the Smokey Mountains so we had to get the chores over with 😉

  4. Once again those as just *gorgeous* pictures, Montucky! Absolutely stunning! I’m so glad you and your son had such a great Father’s Day together.

  5. Bernie,

I’d love to go on that camping trip! I did spend a week camping there back in the 60’s and still remember so much of the trip. I hope you have a wonderful time on the trip!

  6. Thanks, Sara! It turned out to be a terrific day for both of us! I’m very proud of my son!

You were very close to where these photos were taken on your Montana trip last month. It’s about a mile below the mouth of the Flathead river.

  7. I think my heart just skipped a beat at the thought that I’m going to be living close to such beauty when I move to Missoula in August. Thanks for letting me know!!

  8. I think you’ll really enjoy western Montana! It’s pretty just about any way you go out of Missoula. You’ll have a lot to explore without really going too far.

  9. Beautiful places, and nice capturing of the reflections. Wish I could sit and look into that water, watch for minnows or waterbugs. I’ve posted up some of the critter pictures I’ve gotten lately, I’m going to eat supper, then I’m going to put up some of the Night Fountain, and reflections pictures taken on different days. *smile*

  10. There’s always something interesting around water, isn’t there? I liked the turtle that you posted and I’ll watch for the others.

  11. Done! Do the fonts in some posts and my sidebar look different to you? They keep changing, the font style is different, and the text color on my side bar (and bolding) changes every other time I load the page. This started once I figured out how to use the “split” option in a post. *wry* I don’t get it, but I wish the fonts would behave and go back to how they should be. *sigh*

  12. Lovely water photos, and that sounds like a perfect father’s day!

For me, fishing isn’t even remotely about catching fish, as I never land anything at all 🙂 More about good times, good scenery, and good company. If I get dinner, so much the merrier!

  14. Kat,

I wish I could offer some help on that, but I haven’t even tried that.

  15. Adam,

Yes, it’s the experience of getting out that’s most enjoyable. I end up with enough for the freezer by the end of the summer though.

  16. Thanks, Silken! Seems like there’s always a nice scene popping up when I’m out.
