Yesterday evening, after I had been sick and in bed most of the day, my wife, who is a fantastic cook, took pity on me and made some delicious, magic chicken soup. I highly recommend it, because this afternoon, even though it was raining, I was able to hike the lower end of one of my favorite trails, the Spring Creek trail

Spring Creek. (Because of the rain I didn’t take my tripod today, so these photos of the stream are from a trip there in May.)
and see the Tolmie star-tulips which are in bloom now in that area.
That is some incredible soup!

This is a great trail, although after the first couple of miles it gets very aggressive. No skeeters or flies at the lower end, but there are a few deer flies at the upper end and they are a problem only on hot sunny days.

we had a “sickie” here this week too. too bad she doesn’t do chicken! a hike like that can do wonders for a body as well!

Yes, a hike in a place like that can cure lots of things. It sometimes seems that in the wild country I can just feel the power of nature enter my body.

I’m glad you’re feeling better! And that you were able to take that hike, which I’m sure was spiritually restorative just as the soup was physically so.
I’m still in love with the Tolmie star-tulips…they’re *furry* inside! That’s just so cool!
(And your waterfall pictures are fabulous! Do you have information about what kind of camera you use anywhere? I’m thinking about getting a somewhat more capable camera.)

Thanks, Sara. I think the hike put me back on my feet again (no pun intended).
The tulips have become my favorites too. They have so much variation. I brought back 30 photos from that one hike and each one is slightly different from the others.
The camera I use is a Kodak Z712IS. The Kodak website has all the specs on line. It’s not expensive but has quite a bit of flexibility. At times I wish I had something with better lens quality and more capability, but besides the expense, I would find it difficult to take a large one with several big lenses along on the difficult trips.
