Two sentries, standing tall and strong at dusk in the cool Montana air, awaiting whatever the night will bring..

  1. It’s hard not to appreciate the very things in the forest that has saved my tush from more than one thick rain cloud! I like this shot and I find it fascinating how your tone humanizes the forest. Really it’s a beautiful way to think of things. 🙂 nice.

  2. We share “our” property with these two which stand in front of the house. I’m guessing they started out about the time of the Civil War, and hope they stay there for at least a hundred years after I’m gone. We talk often.

  4. They are, Bernie. When I need a dose of perspective I sit or lie down under their branches and think of all they have endured, everything they would have seen if they had eyes, and how much more life they will have left after I’m gone.
