Moon window

Maybe this is why the coyotes sing.

Moon window

  1. This is a phenomenal shot Terry… I love the silhouette of the branches – perfect. I can see you worked out composition a lot better than I did today. 🙂 Really the branches almost look like lace. Lovely! p.s. I found your post odd. Only because I’ve been waiting for the full moon for two weeks to take some photos myself! This however is as graceful as a doe in the woods. Beautiful.

  2. Beautiful and haunting. I’m a big fan of moon shots (both looking and taking), and you’ve done it justice.

  3. Thanks Lori,

This one kind of ties in with the photo in my previous post. The pine needles are on the lower branches of the taller of the pines. This, however, is yet another case of it being better to be lucky than good.

  4. Wolf,

I like them too, but this is the first time I’ve had one turn out reasonably well. They’re harder than I thought! You’d laugh if you saw the “McGyver” job I had to do on an old tripod to use for it (my new one broke). Seems the moon is patient.

  5. If this isn’t the reason they sing…it should be.

Perhaps they’ll do a coyote rendition of the old John Prine line, “Shoot the moon, right between the eyes; I’m keeping, most of me in sunny countryside.”

    Marvelous composition.

  6. Haven’t heard that: I’m a pretty poor music fan. I hear the coyotes a lot though and just love listening to them.

  7. Great shot Terry, perfect seasonal shot with Halloween approaching, great work.

  8. I hadn’t even thought about Halloween, but I guess it is getting closer. Don’t know where I’ll come up with a witch, but I’ve hear there are at least a couple in town, so…

  9. No problem. We all have our own music; yours just happens to be in the color and rhythm of the world around you.

To the benefit of us all, I might add.

  10. Pinhole,

It’s not that I don’t like music, I just never seem to listen to it.
