Everywhere, clouds

Filed under: Clouds, Montana, Nature, Outdoors, Photography, Photos, Pictures — montucky @ 3:57 pm

Finally, a little relief from the heat and desert-like humidity. It was only a little rain, but with it came cooler temperatures and beautiful clouds. A peaceful, although likely short, break from the fires.

How pleasant it is to know that those are real clouds for a change and not plumes of smoke!

  1. Breathtakingly beautiful.

  2. That’s why I can’t stop taking photos, teaspoon. I love this country! The clouds are a real treat right now!

  3. Theses four may be my favorite shots that you have done Terry, the flowers are so beautiful and the mountains scenes are awesome. Fantastic work I just love the color in those flowers and the water drops add a wonderful touch, and the cloud shrouded mountains are powerful. Keep em coming.

  4. Thanks Bernie. These are pure shots of opportunity. The flowers were on a mountain top yesterday and when I found them it was raining very lightly. The storm stayed around over night and the clouds this morning were very active. Usually the cloud scenes like this are later in the year, maybe in September or October. It was wonderful to see them after all the smoke that we’ve had lately.

  5. Great shots, as always. Hopefully the rain will have two side effects: clean the air a bit from all of the smoke, and maybe even help the firefighters a little. As far as that goes, it’s been raining here for a solid week, and you can have some of it as well.

  6. One can truly lose oneself in a sky such as this.

If you have any extra rain, send it to Georgia. It will help ease the drought while giving us a sky that looks as great as your photographs.

  7. Funny how things match up when your something like five hundred miles away from me (give or take a step or two) We have had rain too – with clouds so lovely and amazing I couldn’t stop taking photos of them too. I got lucky on a few with the sunset streaming through a few of them. It must have been where the saying comes from heaven sent. I agree with Bernie here these shots are really beautiful. I’m amazed you found a flower. However with everything so brown over here I was also amazed that after two days of off and on again rain there were grass shoots up – green – about six inches tall all over my backyard. Again… nature and the way she works it all out really puts a crimp in my brain from thinking too hard. Thanks for posting these they are really beautiful.

  8. wolf,
Yes, it did clear the air and help a little with the fires, but we’d sure like some of that extra you have. We only had a tenth of an inch.

  9. knight,
I just wish we had some extra rain. By the time we have extra precipitation, it’ll be white. We could ship some or that though if you’d like. That would probably go over big in Georgia, at least for a day or so for the kids.

  10. Lori,
It seems that our climates are pretty close, although I think you get a little more rain than we do. We haven’t had enough to green up anything, just to cool it off a bit and raise the humidity some. This morning for the first time since May there was condensation on the truck windows (it was 41º).
