To the east

Just beyond the trees and 4,000 feet below, the small town of Hot Springs is just 5 miles away. (This photo is for Geri.)

Hot Springs Montana

Beyond the town, and another 40 miles away, the majestic Mission Mountains.

A few more degrees to the south and just below the peak, Baldy Lake.

  1. There are a couple things I love about this line up – let’s start at the top… what’s capturing my attention there is the forest line. Wow….amazing. Hot springs? Very cool. Without question I love that last shot – that’s an genuine eye pleaser right there. Your geological formations are also really cool.

  2. There’s a lot of diversity in this part of the state. That brown prairie is actually the area of least rainfall in the state, but on both sides the vegetation is lush.

Near the base of the far mountains is Flathead Lake. It is barely visible in the large sizes of the photos.

I’ll post more views from the mountain. There is so much to see that on just the two trips I ended up with 94 pictures.
