To take a step back

Filed under: Montana, Nature, Outdoors, Photos, Pictures — montucky @ 8:32 pm

It has been said that you can’t turn back the hands of time, but sometimes you can (in a manner of speaking). I did today.

Today my front yard displays the greens of spring.

A twenty minute’s drive away, an hour’s hike, three thousand feet of altitude, and it’s back two months to the land of hypothermia, where the snow’s still deep and the ground is still frozen, where can be seen

the tracks of the Snowshoe in last night’s fresh snowfall,

and the tracks of its pursuer, the Bobcat.

It’s refreshing to see what a change of altitude can do; to take a step back

to the headwaters of Clark Creek in the Cabinet Mountains of western Montana.
